Job summary

The City of Fort Lauderdale seeks a Division Manager within the Capital Projects Department to lead complex capital improvement initiatives from planning through closeout.

You will supervise project management teams and inspection staff, coordinate with consultants and contractors, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations while driving program delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with relevance to civil engineering or construction management.
• Progressively responsible experience leading capital projects or programs.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of project management teams on major capital projects.
• Supervise staff and consultants, ensuring delivery on schedule and within budget.
• Prepare and review budgets, cost estimates, and procurement documents.
• Coordinate with City departments, utilities, consultants, and contractors.
• Lead QA/QC efforts and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Prepare agenda items for City Commission consideration and report on project progress.
