University Hospital in Newark, NJ is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for Capital Construction Projects. This full-time role supports the Senior Project Manager through planning, budgeting, contract prep, and oversight from design to occupancy and closeout.

You will coordinate with in-house teams, consultants, and end users on diverse infrastructure upgrades, ensuring schedules, safety, and compliance in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in engineering field or related technical/trade/vocational background preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in engineering, construction, real estate, or facility management.
• Familiarity with healthcare facility systems and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Project Manager with planning, budgeting, and contract document prep for capital projects.
• Coordinate design, space planning, and RFP/Q processes with Purchasing.
• Oversee documentation control, as-builts, warranties, and O&M manuals.
• Monitor site activities, track contract values, changes, and billing status.
• Ensure ICRA, safety, and housekeeping standards in coordination with Infection Control and Safety staff.
• Support cross-functional teams across departments for successful project delivery.
