Job summary

Ash Grove Cement is seeking a CapEx Safety Manager to lead safety documentation and the safety organization for all CapEx projects. You will work with contractor safety teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and CRH Life-Saving Rules, and develop monthly safety reports for the organization.

You will coordinate with procurement, train personnel, conduct risk assessments, and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years in a lead technical role in the mining and cement industry.
• Proficient in English, written and verbal.
• Experience managing contractor safety organizations on capital project job sites.
• Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulatory requirements and CRH Life-Saving Rules.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across complex, multi-site CapEx programs.
• Experience conducting safety risk assessments, safety audits, and root cause analyses.

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Review safety policies and documentation for compliance.
• Review safety requirements with suppliers and contractors.
• Coordinate bid alignment with procurement for safety specs.
• Conduct safety risk assessments and audits.
• Set up safety organization on site.
• Issue safety alerts and RCA reviews.
• Provide safety training and information.
• Perform safety inspections on job sites.
• Prepare monthly safety reports.
• Develop safety policies per MSHA/OSHA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
