Job summary

Ash Grove Cement, a CRH Company, is seeking an Environmental Engineer to administer the plant environmental program in accordance with federal and state laws. The role involves coordinating with regulatory agencies, ensuring permits compliance, and preparing environmental reports.

You will promote safety guidelines, manage audits, and support training initiatives with the Environmental Manager and Corporate Environmental Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or other technically related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental field in cement, mining or related industry and working with regulatory agencies.
• Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Participates in environmental projects/issues, serves as a liaison with regulatory agencies, and inspectors during inspections.
• Ensures compliance with all environmental permits and all applicable federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations.
• Assists regulatory agencies by providing information and assistance.
• Administers, and assists in preparation of various environmental reports, renewals, questionnaires and surveys.
• Performs audits of data acquisition system and makes necessary changes.
• Coordinates compliance with Corporate Environmental Policy and ISO 14001 Certification.
• Contracts with training consultants and purchases training media in a cost-effective manner.
• Coordinates all training efforts and goals with the Environmental Manager and Corporate Environmental Manager.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
