Job summary

General Motors is seeking an experienced supplier-facing manufacturing expert to support supplier capacity readiness, run-at-rate execution, and practical problem solving across the supply base. This role partners with the Supplier Quality team to drive corrective actions and ensure production readiness.

You will coach SQEs on capacity fundamentals, analyze line performance, and help suppliers recover and sustain improvements while working in a hybrid model based in Warren, Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of how capacity is calculated, justified, installed, launched, and validated in production.
• Experience troubleshooting line performance, bottlenecks, and launch issues.
• Ability to develop detailed, credible recovery plans with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on supplier capacity planning, line installation, launch execution, and run-at-rate readiness.
• Visit suppliers with capacity or execution issues and identify gaps, build corrective actions, and drive resolutions.
• Assess if installed capacity aligns with volumes and production requirements.
• Educate SQEs on capacity fundamentals and act as a technical resource across the team.
• Provide backfill support and coordinate actions across supplier-facing responsibilities.
