Job summary

General Motors in Michigan is seeking a senior leader to own day-to-day operational supply chain execution, from supplier to manufacturing site, driving data-driven improvements and resilient, scalable processes.

You will lead a high-performing team, translate demand into executable supply plans, and partner across Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to balance cost, risk, and customer commitments. This hybrid role may include relocation support and travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years across automotive supply chain, manufacturing operations, launch excellence, or service parts.
• Proven leadership of teams (4-5 direct reports) in complex, high-pressure environments.
• Deep understanding of material flow, production scheduling, supplier management, and logistics operations.
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and capability transformation within an operational organization.
• Strong operational judgment with timely decision-making under uncertainty.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint; translating data into action.
• Willingness to travel 10–40% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operational supply chain execution to ensure material availability for automotive manufacturing and service parts fulfillment.
• Lead rapid issue identification, containment, and resolution for supply, capacity, logistics, and supplier disruptions.
• Lead engineering change management; align future material availability with launch excellence.
• Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to drive timely decisions and trade-offs.
• Monitor and improve core operational KPIs (material availability, supplier performance, inventory health, premium freight, schedule adherence).
