Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Capacity Analytics & Tooling to own strategy, roadmap, and delivery of capacity planning tools used across engineering, product, finance, and leadership.

You will collaborate with data and infrastructure teams to build reliable data foundations, improve forecasting, and scale success metrics for CPU, storage, network, and GPU resources. You will partner with diverse teams to forecast demand, understand supply, and plan allocations across

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading technical programs or products in data platforms or infrastructure.
• Experience translating complex operational needs into requirements and releases.
• Direct capacity planning, demand forecasting, allocations, and constraints.
• Proficient SQL and Python for data investigation and prototyping.
• Understanding across multi-cloud compute and storage, with cost awareness.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy and roadmap for supply and demand planning tools.
• Translate complex processes into tools for demand intake, forecasting, supply tracking, scenario analysis, and allocation planning.
• Scale the data infrastructure behind capacity planning and guide data ingestion, transformation, storage, and delivery.
• Define shared data models for supply, demand, allocations, utilization, and cost; drive data cleaning and reconciliation.
• Advance forecasting and analytical capabilities; connect product plans to infrastructure demand and visibility into forecast accuracy.
• Define and scale measures for data quality, forecast performance, and tool adoption; track capacity availability and efficiency across resources.
• Support planning across multiple cloud providers; account for provider differences in resources and deployment constraints.
• Lead delivery across data, infrastructure, and planning teams; manage dependencies and releases.
• Drive adoption by creating workflows, documentation, and training; identify automation opportunities to reduce manual work.
• Make capacity tradeoffs clear to leadership with visuals of gaps and financial/operational consequences.
