Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a capacity planning and infrastructure-focused technical program manager in San Francisco.

You will own CPU capacity planning across Research and Compute, coordinating with infrastructure owners to forecast demand and plan CPU, storage, and network resources for pretraining, research, and applications at scale. You will collaborate with workload owners, infrastructure engineering, network teams, Finance, and cloud providers to turn forecasts into allocation plans and

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of technical program management or capacity planning.
Experience with CPU/GPU infrastructure and data-center operations.
Strong cross-functional collaboration across engineering, finance, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Lead CPU demand planning across Research, Compute, and application infrastructure.
Translate workload growth into CPU, storage, and network requirements with engineering.
Reconcile supply vs demand, drive allocation and prioritization decisions.
Coordinate with network teams to plan bandwidth and connectivity for the fleet.
Guide capacity sizing and regional placement to meet workload needs.
Drive fleet efficiency programs to reclaim unused capacity and reduce costs.
Scale capacity planning across CPU, storage, and network with owners.
Shape capacity orders and renewal decisions with cloud providers and Finance.
