Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Infrastructure Systems & Tooling in San Francisco. You will own the governance, data, and program-management backbone for Infrastructure Operations, translating strategy into executable goals and operating cadences.

You will manage the current delivery-tracking layer across sites, partnering with 1P Delivery, Compute TPMs, and operations leaders to ensure complete, usable input for readiness and handover.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technical program management or equivalent.
• Experience leading end-to-end software/systems in ops.
• Fluency with dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting.
• Built governance: goal-setting, reviews, risk management, and escalation.
• Experience with data centers, infra operations, cloud, or critical environments.
• Able to influence across senior teams and vendors without direct authority.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish and run goal-setting and operating cadences with quarterly goals and weekly reviews.
• Build dashboards, scorecards, and executive-ready reporting for health and capacity.
• Define data models and standards for milestones, timelines, and readiness.
• Own 1P+3P delivery-tracking across sites and partners with forecasts.
• Define requirements for capacity acceptance and handover processes.
• Lead governance for information management and document life cycles.
• Lead software/tooling implementations from discovery to rollout.
• Improve data connections across reporting, ticketing, and operational systems.
• Program-manage cross-functional initiatives with engineering, construction, and vendors.
• Coordinate resources; ensure accountability for dependencies and ownership.
• Capture lessons learned; drive automation and scalable improvements.
