Job summary

Catholic Charities St. Joseph’s Family Center in San Francisco seeks a CAP Coordinator to support shelter operations for families, coordinate children's activities, and supervise interns and volunteers.

Required: Bachelor’s in early childhood development or related field, 3–4 years in child development, experience with homeless families, CPR/First Aid, and valid CA driver’s license. You will work with SFUSD and partner agencies, maintain records, and help plan events and parenting programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood development or related field.
• 3-4 years experience in child development.
• Experience with, and sensitivity to the needs of homeless families.
• Current certificate in first aid and CPR.
• Ability to supervise volunteers.
• Experience working with community agencies and resources, including large urban school districts.

Responsibilities

• Perform intake, assessment and evaluation of each child's needs.
• Coordinate case management needs of all children.
• Plan and organize major shelter events.
• Assist families in developing their parenting skills.
• Coordinate with SFUSD and outside providers regarding children’s needs.
• Maintain and develop positive relationships with funders.
• Maintain accurate, current client and program documentation.
