Job summary

Minnesota Cannabis Services is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead on the dispensary floor, drive daily operations, and mentor a team in a highly regulated retail setting. You will oversee cash, inventory, staffing, and customer experience while maintaining strict compliance with state regulations.

You’ll coach budtenders, ensure accurate reporting, and manage merchandising and promotions. This role offers growth within a fast-growing industry and a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of retail, hospitality, or customer service experience; supervisory exposure preferred.
• Cannabis industry experience a plus — not required.
• Proficiency with POS systems and inventory software; seed-to-sale experience a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations and ensure adherence to SOPs and company policies.
• Manage shift coverage, staffing adjustments, and timesheet accuracy.
• Ensure full compliance with state cannabis regulations and internal procedures.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of retail employees; train new hires.
• Set the standard for excellent, compliant customer service on the floor.
• Manage in-store digital menus, displays, and kiosk menus; update signage and promotions.
• Complete EOD, cash bank, and labor cost reporting; track transactions and customer issues.
