Job summary

Minnesota Cannabis Services is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead on the dispensary floor where you will support store leadership in daily operations, staff development, cash handling, and inventory control. This role requires adherence to strict state regulations and a customer-first approach in a fast-paced, highly regulated retail setting.

You will coach budtenders, manage the queue during peak hours, and ensure accurate POS and inventory processes while fostering a culture of compliance,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of retail, hospitality, or customer service experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Cannabis industry experience a plus — not required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Comfortable in a highly regulated environment.
• Proficiency with POS and inventory software; seed-to-sale experience a plus.
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations and ensure SOPs and policies are followed.
• Manage shift coverage, staffing adjustments, and timesheet accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with state cannabis regulations and internal procedures.
• Support training and development of staff; mentor team.
• Handle cash management including petty cash, cash vaults, and POS accuracy.
• Manage inventory receiving, restocking, audits, and shrinkage controls.
• Coach budtenders on product knowledge and customer service.
• Report HR matters, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.
