Job summary

Green Thumb is seeking a Plant Controller to join the Operations Finance team, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management at the Virginia facility. You will partner with operations leadership to ensure accurate financial data, manage fixed assets, and drive continuous process improvements across budgeting, forecasting, and ERP implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of accounting experience and 5+ years of operations finance or cost accounting in manufacturing.
• Mastery of accounting principles, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication, leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly closing of financials for facility in accordance with GAAP and Company policy.
• Prepare monthly analysis of financial results including variance analysis with facility GM and operations staff.
• Coordinate and oversee physical inventories, SOX, and audits with plant sites.
• Prepare labor utilization plan with headcount and overtime reporting.
• Lead annual budget and monthly forecasts; compare to prior year and budgets.
• Coordinate evaluation of capital projects and approval processes.
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation calculations.
• Conduct operational analysis, forecasting, and trend projections.
• Lead site-level financial meetings and provide financial visibility to business partners.
• Review KPI data with management and analyze root causes.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to improve processes and reduce costs.
• Provide reports to department heads to manage expenses.
• Work with operations finance to determine standard costs for materials, inventory, and labor.
• Monitor and maintain inventory reporting and controls at the site.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support ERP implementations.
• Hire, train, and develop site finance resources; provide support to general manager.
