Candy Lead Clerk (Food Services)

Our sweetest Department at our North Babylon Store is currently seeking a Lead for its team! This FT Candy Lead will be responsible for leading the Candy team and enhancing the customer experience in an outgoing, approachable manner. The new hire will provide excellent customer service, assist with selections, and answer customer questions within the Candy Store.

Responsibilities

1. Assist all candy store customers, greeting them in a friendly and approachable manner.
2. Interview, hire, and train staff within the Candy Department.
3. Operate a register, stock products, and create orders for pickup.
4. Manage decorating functions to make the Candy Store appealing.
5. Place orders, control inventory, ensure machine cleanliness, and maintain department sanitation and appearance.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in the food industry; Candy Store experience preferred.
• Excellent listening and communication skills in a professional and friendly manner.
• Focus on customer satisfaction.
• Practice basic safety procedures with equipment and products.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
• Replenish supplies to minimize downtime.
• Build rapport with team members and lead by example.

Working Conditions

Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds, and more than 30 pounds with assistance. Work environment is usually indoor, surrounded by machinery and loud equipment, which may require shouting. Exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers is possible. Occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects, and industrial equipment may be necessary.
