Job summary

JMC Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, West Virginia is seeking an experienced RN to coordinate and deliver coordinated adult hematology/oncology care. The role emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, patient teaching, and liaison between patients, physicians and hospital departments.

The RN will manage cancer service delivery across prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and follow-up, while ensuring smooth patient flow in infusion clinics and related settings.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state where services will be provided (or multi-state via eNLC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or BMTCN certification within 3 years of hire.
• Three (3) years nursing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
• OCN or BMTCN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assures delivery of comprehensive cancer services through coordinated, expert patient care for adult hematology/oncology patients.
• Coordinates all phases of cancer services including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and follow-up.
• Acts as a liaison between patients, physicians, and hospital departments to ensure smooth patient transitions.
• Collaborates with financial counselors and social services for financial assessments.
• Monitors schedules and optimizes patient flow across labs, clinics, and infusion centers.
• Attends rounds and tumor boards to obtain information for patient care coordination.
• Maintains patient lists and communication with referring institutions.
• Provides patient and caregiver education and supports teaching needs.
• Participates in quality improvement and clinical research activities.
