Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking an Oncology Nurse Navigator to coordinate comprehensive cancer services for adult hematology/oncology patients. The role emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, patient education, and seamless navigation through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.

The NURSE must hold an active RN license (state or compact) and obtain BLS within 30 days. OCN or BMTCN certification is preferred, with several years of oncology experience.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state where services are provided or multi-state license via eNLC.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN) within 3 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver expert nursing care for adult hematology/oncology patients.
• Act as liaison between patients, physicians, and hospital departments.
• Assist with referrals, problem-solving, and care plan execution.
• Provide patient/family education and assess learning needs.
• Participate in rounds, tumor boards, and quality improvement activities.
