Job summary

UVA Health’s Cancer Center Concierge delivers welcoming, compassionate support to patients, families, volunteers, and staff. You will guide navigation, coordinate services, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure a seamless cancer care experience.

This onsite, day-shift role emphasizes hospitality, proactive problem-solving, and excellent service in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent; Bachelor's in Hospitality preferred.
• Experience: 3 years in hospitality such as hotel, restaurant, retail or similar.
• Licensure: None

Responsibilities

• Welcome, assist, and direct patients, families, and visitors throughout the Cancer Center.
• Help patients navigate appointments, services, and clinic locations.
• Provide real-time customer service support with professionalism and empathy.
• Coordinate and support volunteers for patient and family engagement.
• Assist with activities and programs including art experiences, pet therapy visits, music events.
• Help coordinate supplies for volunteer services and patient comfort programs.
• Partner with clinical and operational teams to enhance the patient experience.
• Communicate effectively with individuals who may be confused or anxious.
• Identify needs proactively and resolve issues to prevent barriers to care.
