Job summary

Moraine Valley Community College seeks a Student Success Specialist at the Main Campus to support transitions, retention and completion of students. Under the Dean of Student Success, you will develop, implement and evaluate campus-wide programs aligned with learning college concepts.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years in higher education, strong project management and communication skills, and proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; field in student services or education administration; Master's preferred.
• Minimum two years in higher education or direct student service; experience in program development is required.
• Strong project management and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to learn other software as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor student needs; propose initiatives to boost retention and success.
• Develop and assess programs that increase retention, completion and student success.
• Research and evaluate technology to support the Student Success Center goals.
• Coordinate financial literacy program to teach students responsible financial practices.
• Participate in recruitment, retention and communications for dual credit and enrollment programs.
• Assist with Orientation programs and family engagement activities.
• Support veteran services coordination to welcome and assist student veterans.
• Maintain knowledge of career and transfer requirements for new student programs.
• Develop outreach activities for student success initiatives.
• Prepare monthly and annual progress reports.
• Collaborate with the Dean to report initiatives via newsletters and presentations.
• Use dashboards and CRM data to communicate with students in the pipeline.
• Assist in implementing programs with counselors, advisors and faculty.
• Serve on campus committees related to student success.
• Stay informed on financial aid information and best practices.
• May supervise student employees and interns.
