Job summary

Follett Higher Education is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support a Market Leader or Campus Store Manager in overseeing store operations. You will drive sales growth while delivering brand and operational excellence, ensuring the team provides an engaging customer service experience and maintains merchandising standards.

The role requires mentorship of team members, attention to financial metrics, and flexibility to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• General computer skills required.
• 0-5 years of retail or bookstore experience preferred; supervisory experience preferred.
• Customer service skills and ability to engage with customers.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the work activities of the sales team (FT/PT and temporary).
• Schedules team members' work hours and trains new hires.
• Greet customers, answer phones, provide information and resolve escalated issues; foster a hassle-free customer service culture.
• Handle cash operations: balance drawer, deposits, and POS transactions per procedures.
• Stock shelves, take inventory, and maintain merchandising and display standards.
• Assist with opening/closing duties as a keyholder; support other departments during peak times.
