Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager and lead the daily operations of a campus store. You will deliver an exceptional customer experience, drive sales, and manage merchandising, inventory, and campus relationships to create a welcoming environment.

You will recruit, hire, train, coach, and schedule staff; analyze sales trends; manage expenses; and ensure standards across departments.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of retail experience, including leadership or supervisory exposure preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
• Familiarity with retail operations, merchandising, and inventory management.
• Proficiency with POS systems and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily sales floor operations and deliver exceptional customer service.
