Job summary

Follett is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support a Market Leader or Campus Store Manager in delivering exceptional customer service and strong store performance. The role emphasizes mentorship, merchandising excellence, and adherence to Follett values while maintaining flexible availability to meet business needs.

The position involves supervising sales staff, handling cash procedures, and contributing to inventory and reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred.
• 0–5 years of retail or bookstore experience preferred; supervisory experience preferred.
• General computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise sales team members (FT/PT and seasonal); schedule hours and train new staff.
• Greet customers, answer phones, resolve escalated issues; promote solutions-based selling.
• Receive, verify, unload orders; operate POS and balance cash drawer; prepare deposits.
• Stock shelves and manage inventory per store schedule.
• Open/close responsibilities as a keyholder; assist in end-of-month reporting.
