Chartwells Higher Ed at the University of Memphis is hiring immediately for full-time Sous Chef positions. Located at 3706 Alumni Ave, Memphis, TN 38152, on-site duties include preparing and cooking foods, supervising cooks, and ensuring production standards and safety.

We seek 2–4 years of progressive culinary experience, strong inventory and supervisory skills, and the ability to follow recipes accurately.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of progressive culinary experience, including inventory and supervision.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain production standards.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates and supports scheduling and training.
• Maintains food safety, sanitation, and portion control.
• Ensures proper serving temperatures and presentation.
• Monitors inventory and coordinates with supervisor on low supplies.
• Assists in daily menu knowledge and customer interactions.
