Job summary

Jefferson Health seeks a Security Sergeant to supervise security officers, respond to escalated incidents, and coordinate with Jefferson Police Department and local law enforcement. You will ensure safety for employees, students, visitors, and property, and rotate shifts as needed across campus locations.

The role requires experience as a security/police officer, PA Act 235 certification, and familiarity with CCTV, fire alarm systems, and access control.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is implied; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a security/police officer, healthcare setting preferred.
• PA Act 235 certification required to work at PA Jefferson locations.

Responsibilities

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Patrol campus to ensure a safe, violence-free environment.
• Conduct unscheduled checks of high-risk areas and report concerns in writing to the Lieutenant.
• Monitor officers on-shift to ensure on-post coverage and adherence to post requirements.
• Act as Front Line supervisor, coordinate with shift Lieutenant on incidents.
• Communicate conduct problems to management per policy and standards.
• Assist as Emergency Response Team member during fires, bomb threats, or other crises.
