Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect students, staff, patients, visitors and assets across university and hospital properties. You will patrol fixed posts or on foot, verify credentials and escort unauthorized individuals, while remaining calm during emergencies and incidents.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and are prepared to work rotating shifts. Prior hospital or campus security is preferred, with opportunities to advance within the safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Criminal Justice training or related coursework preferred.
• Experience in campus/hospital security is desirable.
• Ability to work all shifts and rotate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs security patrols at fixed posts or on patrol to protect personnel and assets.
• Checks identification badges and escorts unauthorized persons from campus.
• Responds to calls for service and notifies supervisor of conditions.
• Investigates and documents incidents and maintains daily patrol logs.
• Provides assistance with security escorts and campus parking issues.
• Enforces all No Smoking environments on campus.
