Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Campus Police Officer to provide security for Homewood Campus and off-campus sites. The role includes first-responder duties, patrols by foot, bike, Segway, or vehicle, and incident response to protect students, staff, and visitors.

The officer will conduct investigations, write reports, and support the shift with safe and secure operations. Flexible shifts and holiday coverage are required at times to ensure campus safety.

Qualifications

• Two years of related security experience; military experience may substitute.
• High School Diploma or GED required; further education may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas on foot, bicycle, Segway, or patrol vehicles.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls and support the on-duty shift.
• Prepare clear, concise reports and maintain confidentiality.
• Direct traffic and enforce campus parking regulations as needed.
• Provide escorts and other services to support operations.
• Work flexible shifts including holidays and weekends.
• Operate computers and security equipment as part of daily duties.
• Ensure security for university property and off-campus events.
