The Johns Hopkins University seeks a Campus Police Officer to protect the Peabody campus and off-campus activities, delivering security services with a focus on community safety for students, staff, visitors and neighbors.

Typical shift is 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. This non-sworn, unarmed position requires Maryland police eligibility, a valid driver’s license, and a successful background check. Diverse patrol and support duties ensure safety at Johns Hopkins facilities and events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
• Two years work experience. Must meet Maryland State Police requirements for a Special Police Commission and possess a valid U.S. driver's license; must pass a University background investigation; maintain a clean driving record.

Responsabilités

• Patrol assigned areas on foot.
• Participate in crime prevention and community policing.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls and take action as needed.
• Conduct investigations with clear, concise reports.
• Perform security inspections and report conditions as necessary.
• Provide escorts and general services, including building access.
• Work flexible shifts including holidays and weekends.
• Use computers and equipment as part of routine duties.
• Provide security and customer service for Peabody campus activities and events.
• Support security for events at George Peabody Library and related venues.
