Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Security Officer to patrol the campus and provide security services for staff and visitors. You will respond to non-emergency and emergency calls, write incident reports, and assist supervision in maintaining a safe environment across the facility.

The role involves patrolling by vehicle, bike, or on foot, monitoring fire and emergency systems, and managing situations with patients in crisis as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; military, corrections, or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with individuals and groups.
• Ability to pass Security Defensive Tactics Training.
• Ability to pass taser and pepper gel training.
• Drive a company vehicle must meet insurance guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conducts continuous random patrols using patrol vehicle, bicycle, or foot patrol.
• Responds to all calls from the public, hospital staff, and the security dispatcher.
• Monitors and pages fire codes via the fire monitor system located in security dispatch.
• Responds to hospital emergency overhead pages as determined by security dispatch.
• Physical management of patients going through crisis.
• Escorts patients to In Patient Mental Health or other areas of the facility, as requested by staff.
