Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Midland, MI is seeking a Security Officer responsible for routine patrols, incident reporting, and response to both non-emergency and emergency calls across the campus to maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors.

The role requires ability to conduct patrols by car, bike, or on foot; monitor fire and alarm systems; manage crisis situations; and assist with patient transport and other duties per security leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Interpersonal and communication skills essential.
• Must pass Security Defensive Tactics Training and taser/pepper gel training.
• Must pass Security Defensive Tactics Training.

Responsibilities

• Conducts continuous random patrols by vehicle, bicycle, or foot.
• Responds to all calls from the public, hospital staff, and security dispatcher.
• Monitors fire codes on the fire monitor system located in security dispatch.
• Responds to hospital emergency overhead pages as determined by security dispatch.
• Physical management of patients going through crisis.
• Escorts patients to In Patient Mental Health or other areas as requested by staff.
