Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer on a college campus to monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter incidents, and provide friendly, professional service to students, staff and visitors. This driving role offers flexible scheduling via our Claim a Shift platform and opportunities to explore new roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (or 5 years of verifiable experience).
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state and local laws; certain histories may be considered.
• Drug screen as a condition of employment where permitted by law.
• No prior security experience required.
• Must be at least 18 years old (21 if armed).
• Reliability and adaptability to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio/console equipment and communicate with the public.
• Strong oral and written communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Monitor for irregular or unusual conditions to deter security concerns or hazards.
• Sound alarms or summon police/fire department as needed.
• Warn violators of infractions such as loitering or smoking.
• Permit authorized entry and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper procedures.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications in line with site Post Orders.
