Thomas College is seeking a Security Officer to protect students, staff, visitors and property on campus in Waterville, Maine. The role emphasizes professionalism, independent judgment, and calm response to emergencies while providing leadership during incidents.

Responsibilities include interior/exterior patrols, incident response, parking enforcement, and collaboration with campus staff. A HS diploma is required; industry experience and strong communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, with secondary education preferred.
• Experience in Safety, Security or related field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of campus buildings and grounds.
• Respond to and investigate safety and security related incidents.
• Monitor parking compliance and issue citations as necessary.
• Collaborate with campus staff and attend mandatory department meetings and campus events requiring large security operation.
• Notify Director of Safety and Security / Assistant Director and/or College administration of emergencies or threats.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and work in all shifts within a 24-hour period.
