Missouri State University’s Campus Safety team seeks a Lead Campus Safety Specialist to supervise and coordinate on-shift operations, drive safety initiatives, and mentor staff across a dynamic university campus. You will implement prevention programs, train colleagues, and ensure accurate reporting and compliance with safety protocols.

The role requires two years of relevant experience, strong communication, and the ability to operate department vehicles and safety systems.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least two years’ experience in safety, security or related fields.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to train, supervise, and coach teams.
• Valid driver’s license and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Ability to work outdoors, lift up to 50 pounds, and respond to incidents.

Responsabilidades

• Perform duties of Campus Safety Specialist and lead on shift.
• Provide training and mentoring to Campus Safety Specialists.
• Act as Campus Safety liaison in incident command and coordinate with emergency services.
• Develop crime prevention programs and present safety lectures.
• Complete special projects and dispatch duties when required.
• Assist with report approvals, scheduling, and mentoring.
• Stay current through professional development and training.
• Support Office of University Safety policies and procedures.
