Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Student Safety Center Coordinator to operate in the 24/7 SSC, handling surveillance, alarm monitoring, and incident reporting. The role requires coordinating with CPS staff, law enforcement, and school administrations to ensure rapid, accurate information flow during emergencies.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with hourly pay, located at CPS facilities in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of four years in a 24/7 Command Center, SOC, PSAP/911, or dispatch environment.
• Experience with Genetec Security Center and SIMS Alarm System software.
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, record, and report serious incidents involving CPS students, staff, or property.
• Monitor real-time camera surveillance across CPS schools.
• Serve as emergency liaison with local law enforcement.
• Coordinate with first responders and CPS staff during emergencies.
• Verify alarm/camera system functionality and implement improvements.
