University of Utah seeks a Security Officer II to provide campus security services on the Main Campus, handling building access, patrols, reporting, and motorist assistance. The role supports safety across campus by covering various posts and responding to incidents as needed.
Responsibilities include writing detailed reports, operating security software, and maintaining professionalism in all situations while adhering to Public Safety policies. Flexible postings may be assigned as required.
Provides security services for the University of Utah's Main Campuscommunity which include but are not limited to: locking buildings,unlocking buildings, patrolling campus, writing reports, assistingmotorists, documenting patrol activities, and covering stationaryposts. Responsibilities may include operating vehicles and includesprograms such as Avigilon, CCURE, Teams, and Microsoft Office. Job responsibilities are not exhaustive. The Department of PublicSafety at the University of Utah provides security for a variety ofcampus partners. This job may be needed to fill a specific postdepending on staffing. The CSO is responsible for overseeing the University's Department of Public Safety, which includes the following operational divisions: University Police, Campus Security, Health Security, Emergency Management, Emergency Communications, and the central administrative Office of the CSO.

High school diploma, GED or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and oneyear security experience or equivalency; successfully pass a background check; demonstrated communications skills; and a commitment to providing excellent customer service required. Avalid Utah Driver's License to be obtained within 6 months ofhire.
The incumbent will be required to obtain Crisis PreventionInstitute certification (CPI) after being hired. The incumbent will also be required to attend other mandatory trainings as determined or required by the Department of Public Safety.
