Job summary

UCLA Parking Services seeks a Parking Assets Operations Supervisor to lead staffing and events for campus parking facilities. You will supervise staff, plan deployments, and ensure service levels while coordinating equipment maintenance and emergency responses.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a high-demand, 24/7 environment. Candidates must meet licensing and background requirements and be prepared for variable shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze staffing needs to cover 24 hours shifts and plan coverage.
• Ability to recruit, train, interview, evaluate performance, and apply disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ability to work any shift over a 24-hour period as mandated by management.
• Ability to hear dispatch communications over a 2-way radio and use radio language.
• Ability to work outside year round in all weather with department gear.
• Ability to handle confidential matters with tact and discretion.
• Demonstrated skills in directing groups, delegating work, and motivating staff.
• Strong oral and written communication to explain policies and procedures.
• Interpersonal skills to work with faculty, staff, students and the public.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently to set priorities and accomplish goals.
• Ability to negotiate solutions to conflicts between individuals or units.
• Ability to adapt to conflicting demands and heavy workloads.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for Parking Assets units including supervising and coordinating activities.
• Plan and implement campus special events and maintenance for parking equipment.
• Supervise full-time and part-time staff working on UCLA core campus and medical parking areas.
• Provide frontline customer service and enforce performance standards.
• Develop and monitor staff performance; participate in training as needed.
• Manage staff deployment plans and schedules for adequate operational coverage.
• Maintain progress reports on quality improvement initiatives.
• Respond to campus emergencies during business hours and after hours.
