Job summary

The University of California, Los Angeles is seeking a Parking Operations and Enforcement Supervisor to provide operational support for Parking Assets. Under the Operations Team Assistant Manager, you will supervise staff, coordinate events, plan maintenance, and ensure service levels are met for the UCLA core campus and medical parking areas.

You will respond to emergencies, manage deployments, monitor quality initiatives, and train staff to deliver respectful, professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze staffing needs to effectively cover a 24 hour operation, considering daily changes in priority.
• Ability to work any shift throughout a 24-hour period as mandated by management.
• Ability to hear and understand ordinary dispatch communications received over a 2-way radio and to use appropriate radio language.
• Ability to work outside year round in inclement and clement weather, using established foul weather gear provided by the department.
• Ability to handle highly confidential matters with tact and diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality of information as needed to protect the rights of individuals or the University.
• Demonstrated skills in directing groups of people, delegating work, supervising and providing a work environment conducive to the motivation of subordinates, and service provision to customers.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to explain policies and procedures to personnel and customers.
• Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.
• Ability to speak on a one-to-one basis, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds to provide information and explain procedures effectively.
• Ability to work independently to establish priorities and accomplish departmental goals and objectives.
• Skill in and ability to negotiate mutually agreeable solutions to conflicts between individuals or organizational units; exchange ideas, information and opinions with others to assist in the formulation of policies and programs and/or arrive jointly
• Ability to work effectively with conflicting demands, changing priorities and heavy workloads.

• Oversee and coordinate staff across a 24-hour operation.

• Provide front-line customer service support and maintain service levels.
