Job summary

Clark University in Worcester, MA is seeking a Network/Telecom Technician to maintain and enhance the university's communications infrastructure, including VoIP and data networks. The role emphasizes end-user support, cable plant maintenance, and collaboration with facilities and vendors.

You will assist in configuration changes, equipment upgrades and documentation to ensure reliable services. Evening/weekend coverage may be required, with a clear focus on security and performance.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's in IT-related field or 2 years in IT Infrastructure role.
• CompTIA Network+ or similar certification preferred.
• Experience with ethernet switch management, copper/fiber cabling, TCP/IP, OSI, wireless, VLANs, VoIP systems; HPE/Aruba hardware preferred.
• Knowledge of telecom tech including hardware/software; experience with Teams and Audiocodes preferred.
• Excellent documentation skills with typical Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier-2 technical and end-user support for network and telecom incidents and service requests.
• Maintain campus cabling plant (copper/fiber) and coordinate with facilities or vendors.
• Monitor ITS UPS infrastructure and assist network engineers with changes and upgrades.
• Support voice/video/data systems including VoIP, classroom AV, endpoints, and networked devices.
• Monitor network and phone systems, respond to alerts and coordinate with the team.
• Maintain inventory and documentation of network/telecom infrastructure; propose changes.
