Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) seeks a Network Field Technician to deliver on-site IT support and network troubleshooting across multiple campus locations.

You will configure networks, assist with Wi-Fi/VPN, and support enterprise applications while maintaining security compliance and documentation. The role reports to IT Support or Network Operations leadership and requires 2 years of IT experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT support, network administration, and application troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and remote support platforms.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Network Support and Troubleshooting: support connectivity and performance across campus networks, including installation and maintenance of Ethernet cables, switches, access points, and related infrastructure.
• Configure IPs, NAT rules, DHCP, and DNS.
• Assist with Wi‑Fi segmentation and VPN support.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve user and equipment connectivity issues.
• Field Support Services: provide desktop and device support across Windows, macOS, and mobile; perform installation and break/fix for faculty and staff.
• Address access permissions in alignment with policy.
• Event and A/V Technology Support: set up and operate audiovisual systems for meetings and events; address AV hardware issues.
• Enterprise Application and User Support: support select enterprise applications and backup procedures; ensure policy compliance and document actions.
