Job summary

Spectrum Human Services in Highland Park, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help keep our campus safe, secure, and functioning for the youth we serve. You'll perform routine and preventative maintenance on buildings, systems, and equipment.

You will troubleshoot plumbing and heating, support repairs with supervisors, and ensure facilities meet safety and quality standards. A background check and medical clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED; 2+ years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance/repair (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Driver’s License: Valid, unrestricted State of Michigan Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Clearances: Ability to successfully complete a background check (free of felony convictions, DHS Central Registry clearance) and medical clearance (physical, TB test, and drug screen).
• Communication: Must have a reliable home phone or cell phone.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Safe Spaces: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on campus buildings, utility systems, and mechanical equipment to ensure a safe, secure environment for youth.
• Troubleshoot & Repair: Service, repair, and install plumbing, heating fixtures, and essential facility systems.
• Support Campus Function: Collaborate with maintenance supervisors to complete repairs efficiently and minimize disruptions to daily youth programming.
• Ensure Operational Excellence: Keep all physical facility standards aligned with safety, security, and quality requirements.
