Job summary

Louisiana Tech University is seeking a dependable Maintenance Repairer 1 to join the Physical Plant team in Ruston, LA. You will perform general maintenance on campus buildings and support the supervisor with assigned work to keep classrooms, labs, and offices safe and functional.

Duties include cleaning or replacing air conditioner filters, replacing ceiling tiles and door hardware, performing minor painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs, and aiding pest control efforts when needed.

Qualifications

• One year of experience or training in building trades or maintenance.
• Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering.
• Able to perform general maintenance on campus buildings.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance on campus buildings.
• Cleans and replaces filters on air conditioners.
• Replaces ceiling tiles, window screens; caulk doors and windows.
• Replaces and installs hinges, knobs, doors, window blinds.
• Performs minor painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Assists in spraying for pests in campus facilities.
