Job summary

Louisiana Tech University, Residential Life-Ruston, LA, seeks a Maintenance Repairer 2 to join its campus team. This role delivers hands-on craftsmanship to ensure safe, comfortable housing for students in dorms and apartments.

The position offers a typical Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm schedule with rotating on-call, an hourly rate of $19.67, and a probationary appointment. Benefits include health insurance, retirement options, and tuition benefits for staff and dependents.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, or related maintenance work.
• Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering.
• Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance, repairs, and additions to all Residential Life buildings.
• Maintains and repairs air conditioning systems and motorized cleaning equipment.
• Replaces and installs ceiling tiles, window screens, hinges, knobs, showerheads, closet hasps, doors, and window blinds, caulks doors and windows, and performs painting repairs.
• Climbs ladders to replace light bulbs and clean out light fixtures, helps investigate and solve problems, and completes any assignments given by the supervisor.
