Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service is seeking a Student Steward to support the culinary team in a fast-paced campus kitchen.

This on-site role emphasizes cleanliness, safety, teamwork, and reliability, with opportunities to learn food safety basics and participate in everyday kitchen operations.

Ideal candidates are motivated, able to stand long shifts, and willing to pass a background check; prior dishwashing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Experience operating a commercial dishwasher.
• Familiar with the industry's best practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room.
• Wash kitchen utensils, equipment and dishes using a dishwasher or by hand.
• Put away clean dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans.
• Stock supplies in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Sweep and wash floors.
• Sort and remove the trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Assist in various food preparation duties as directed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
• Assist in unloading and putting away deliveries.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.
• Communicate regularly with the team.
