Job summary

Sodexo at Indiana State University is seeking a Cook I to prepare, portion, cook and present a variety of hot and cold items across all meal periods and events, following Sodexo’s culinary standards and safety protocols in a fast-paced campus kitchen.

The role requires reading recipes, measuring ingredients, tasting menus, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation, with opportunities for ongoing training and advancement within a benefits-rich environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be familiar with kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to current standards for quality, presentation and safety.
• Follow recipes and product directions for soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other items.
• Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production and requisition supplies.
