Job summary

The University of Houston System seeks a Student Comp/Opts Work-Study to provide technical support for UHD faculty and staff. This role installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and relocates computer hardware and peripherals, supporting IT operations.

You will respond to emails and tickets, perform on-site setups and moves, manage inventory, and assist with events. Must be a current UHD student with a flexible schedule, including weekends; Federal Work-Study eligibility is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UHD student.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• Federal Work-Study eligibility at UHD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emails and tickets regarding technical equipment problems.
• Troubleshoots and repairs computers, printers, and peripheral equipment.
• Moves and relocates computer equipment throughout the university.
• Completes all paperwork for equipment moves, inventory updates, and department invoices.
• Provides onsite support and IT equipment setups for events and for outside vendors when requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
