Job summary

Sam Houston State University is seeking a College Work Study Student Employee in the IT Engagement department. This part-time role (15-26 hours/week) provides Tier 1 support via phone, email, in person, remote, and chat to internal and external clients.

As a current SHSU student (min 6 credit hours, GPA 2.5+), you will work under supervision of the Service Desk Manager, maintain records, and contribute to continuous improvement. Open date 08/04/2026; weekend and weekday shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a current SHSU student enrolled in a minimum of six (6) semester hours with a SHSU GPA of 2.5 or greater.
• IT, Service Desk or customer service job experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, quality Tier 1 IT support for SHSU constituents.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of data.
• Contribute to Service Desk improvement and knowledge base.
• Document interactions clearly in the ticket system.
• Resolve incidents or requests per policies and SLAs.
• Collaborate in a team‑oriented environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
