Job summary

Wilberforce University is seeking an IT Support Technician to manage desktop support, network maintenance, campus event technology, and inventory control while delivering strong customer service to faculty and staff.

The role involves Windows OS installation and maintenance, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory administration, AV setup for meetings and events, and support for classroom technology across the campus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years in desktop support, help desk, or related role.
• Hands-on troubleshooting Windows computers, peripherals, and basic network connectivity.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft 365 preferred.
• Experience with classroom/conference AV technology preferred.
• Experience with managed network switches and cabling preferred.
• Higher education IT support experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop, software, and hardware support for faculty, staff, and classrooms.
• Troubleshoot Windows devices, peripherals, and basic network connectivity.
• Install and configure Windows OS and standard productivity apps.
• Assist in AV setup for meetings and events.
• Maintain accurate equipment records and technical documentation.
• Assist with infrastructure deployments, office moves, and projects.
• Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Provide excellent customer service and issue resolution.
