Smith College's Facilities Management department seeks an HVAC/R technician to operate, repair, and maintain campus systems. The role reports to the facilities manager and runs Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm, ensuring precise climate control and system reliability across all facilities.

The position requires five years of HVAC/R experience, a valid driver's license, and OSHA safety certification; licensure and pool operator credentials are preferred or obtainable within a year.

Qualifikationen

• Must have high school diploma or GED sufficient for the role.
• Five+ years of field HVAC/R maintenance, service and repair experience.
• Massachusetts Refrigeration Technicians license desired or equivalent.
• Certified Pool Operator license preferred or obtainable within 12 months.
• OSHA safety certification and ability to use energy management systems.

Aufgaben

• Operate, service and maintain HVAC/R equipment and control systems.
• Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, upgrade and monitor HVAC/R equipment.
• Monitor energy management system and 4,000-ton chiller plant operation.
• Make program changes in EMS as required and record data for records.
• Inspect, test, lubricate, replace parts and ensure safe operation.
• Maintain temp/humidity control in buildings and service pool systems.
• Record maintenance data and report issues; drive college vehicles as assigned.
• Follow OSHA safety regulations and keep work area clean and safe.
