Job summary

Caltech is seeking an HVAC Supervisor to oversee heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance across the campus under minimal supervision.

This role emphasizes coordinating maintenance efforts, ensuring safety and compliance, mentoring technicians, and delivering timely reports to stakeholders.

The position requires extensive journeyman HVAC experience, proven supervisory leadership on large facilities, and strong communication skills across the campus community.

Qualifications

• 8+ years journeyman HVAC experience with tools of the trade (test instruments, etc).
• 3+ years supervising HVAC mechanics on a large campus or facility project.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and follow written instructions.
• Proven knowledge of building codes, regulatory requirements, licensing, and inspections.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, E-Builder and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Use CMMS to create/plan/complete maintenance work orders.
• Increase customer satisfaction with regular maintenance updates.
• Conduct field inspections to review progress and resolve conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and Caltech Design Guidelines.
• Manage resources and budgets; report financial performance.
