Job summary

Caltech is seeking an HVAC Supervisor to oversee campus heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance under minimal supervision. The role is Essential Reporting and involves managing CMMS work orders, coordinating field inspections, and ensuring compliance with codes and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include leading the HVAC crew, mentoring technicians, handling budgeting and vendor coordination, and delivering timely status reports to stakeholders across the campus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years journeyman HVAC experience with trade tools.
• 3+ years supervisory experience leading HVAC mechanics at journeyman level on a large campus or facility.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, MS Project, E-Builder and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Utilize CMMS to create and complete maintenance work orders.
• Communicate with stakeholders to increase satisfaction with maintenance work.
• Review work progress with field inspections and resolve conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and Caltech guidelines.
• Manage resources for optimum productivity and budgets for the HVAC shop.
• Mentor HVAC technicians and respond to trouble calls and emergencies.
• Lead and evaluate direct reports, schedule work, and oversee contractors.
