Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a seasoned Operations & Maintenance leader located near the University of Kansas campus to oversee O&M accounts. You will supervise maintenance staff and subcontractors across housing buildings, offices, and common areas, coordinating with clients to ensure flawless contract execution.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive maintenance knowledge, and the ability to manage safety compliance while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent field experience.
• Five or more years’ experience in general maintenance work.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Able to manage and train entry-level personnel.
• Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks (climb ladders, lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs).
• Working knowledge of Metasys (BMS) a plus.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Execute an O&M account site(s) and supervise staff.
• Communicate with client and O&M team on contract execution.
• Perform repairs and services in HVAC, mechanical systems, building maintenance, carpentry, painting and plumbing.
• Hire, train, and schedule staff to fulfill contractual obligations.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
• Be on-call 24/7 for emergency response and telephone assistance.
