Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Specialist to maintain critical facilities on the University of Kansas campus, including the Integrated Science Building, Central Utility Plant, Burge Student Union and Central District Housing buildings.

Ideal candidates have strong hands-on maintenance experience with HVAC and building systems and demonstrated leadership. On-call rotation and adherence to safety procedures are required to ensure reliable facilities operations.

Qualifications

• Requires two-year technical degree or two years' experience in Operations & Maintenance Specialist II.
• Requires five or more years' experience in operations and maintenance.
• Must be physically able to perform maintenance tasks including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, maintain HVAC systems and building systems within parameters.
• Perform general maintenance and custodial activities including carpentry, painting, plumbing.
• Provide direction and training to less experienced O&M Specialists.
• Plan, select, and lay out required materials for service and preventive maintenance.
• Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints or instructions and operate various tools.
